The golden otocinclus (Otocinclus affinis) is a small, peaceful freshwater fish. It is a bottom-dwelling, algae-eating fish that is common in aquarium keeping.
Otocinclus are herbivorous and live in waters with strong currents, algae-covered rocks and good plant density. In their natural habitat, they attach themselves to rocks, wood or other stable surfaces to feed on algae.
